CDTV, CD-I etc.
Yes kevin, most of our editorial was done on MAC as was the digitizing.
But that is because X had lots of MAC's already. The Time Table of Science
has been available as a CD for MAC since 1987! It is one of the most
ported CD applications in the business. The PC version of TTSI is now
shipping with the SONY, DAK and other bundles. The screens are a direct
ripoff of the CDTV screens.
The editorial and image work required for a CDROM title are definately a
big expense. But mostly in time required. It costs X lots more to have me
work for a month than an artist. Building a working program for each
different platform is not trivial, especially with the varing degrees of
interactive support (multi-tasking, etc).
