There's an outfit in Parsippany, NJ, named the Bureau of Electronic Publishing that publishes a number of CD-ROM titles on single disks usable in either PC's or Macs. Examples are a detailed Countries of the World disk and one that includes numerous texts about U.S. history. These disks merely contain two versions of the software used to load and search the data that occupies most of the disk. Users run whichever software is compatible with their platform, but the data files are the same. In addition to publishing its own titles, the Bureau also happens to be a major reseller of other publishers' CD-ROM disks and also sells CD-ROM hardware and acccessories. Its catalog, published as a paperback book, also contains lots of background info and tips about CD-ROMs. The president of BEP is a guy named Barry Cinnamon.
