Truthfully, I think we agreed all along (relatively speaking <grin>). I just don't want people assuming because it says CDTV on the outside (or CD-I for that matter) that its going to be a success. There's a long, uphill battle to getting this thing over the top. Sure the thing could have a keyboard if needed, but it shouldn't depend on it and (for the most part) most programs (including productivity programs) don't need it all that much. For instance, Money Mentor had a nice way of building list boxes of usually entered values for the user to pick from. So, after it learns your usage pattern, you don't need to use the keyboard except for the occasional new thing. BTW, doesn't CDTV's remote have pretty much a full alphanumeric keyboard? A computer that looks like a stereo component would be something that consumers would buy if they see it has "utility" for them. Entertainment might open the door, but there's already cheap VCR/Nintendo competition. Also, the economy is such where consumers will think twice (or three times) about big expenses. CDTV (and CD-I) will survive by offering more than just entertainment/education at reasonable prices. David – via Whap!
