Dave, If the device modifies the radiation characteristics of the machine, or has an external port…then according to everything I've read…it MUST be FCC approved. And apparently the FCC also believes this…they've shut down quite a few hardware manufacturers for failing to get their equipment approved. They also pulled equipment from vendors shelves if the equipment isn't registered. I am not a hardware manufacturer, nor do I have a copy of the FCC regs so obviously I'm not an authority on this subject, I just know that the FCC is getting real picky again…and though you might be interested.
