AutoPilot
Bill:
AutoPilot is available from the "Whap!/AutoPilot" section (#9, I think) of
the AmigaVendor forum. There is a lot of discussion about it in the
message area. You can download the demo version from the library area
with the filename "AP.LHA" (no quotes). Once you have it working to your
satisfaction, you can register it on-line for $69.95 and have a full
version with many additional features enabled.
AutoPilot is a very nice program for getting around on CompuServe. It is
designed to do all of your on-line tasks automatically; therefore, it can
save you a lot of money. All the slow work of reading messages, writing
responses, and browsing file catalogs is done off-line. AutoPilot will
then collect message headers and/or messages, send responses, upload and
download files, and manage your E-Mail with just a few simple mouse
clicks. With ARexx scripts, it can be used to do a variety of other
on-line tasks such as accessing news services or getting up-to-date
billing information.
I've been using AutoPilot since the day it was released to the public. On
a scale of one to ten, it gets a solid ten! IMO, it's worth the modest
$69.95 being charged for it. I wish all Amiga software was this solid.
Please note that you'll need AmigaDOS 2.04 (or higher), 2MB of RAM, and
5MB of hard drive space to use the program.
