I wrote Larry Blasko a letter and he actually replied. I pointed out
that excluding the Amiga because it wasn't one of the top two, but one of
the top three platforms wasn't really cool.
I also pointed out that a $1800 '486 might seem like a good bargain
until you look at the price of the software. $300-$400 word processors
etc.
Another point I made was how many pieces of software does a normal home
or student user need to choose from? There is more than enough software,
in most cases, for Amiga users.
He wrote me back and said "point taken."
He also said something like:
"Geez…You Amiga guys are like Mac guys before they invented desktop
publishing and had to start wearing shoes and a suit."
I wish I could quote his original letter but PROCOMM didn't save it as I
requested. Could have been my mistake though…might have hit the wrong
button or something. I requested he resend his letter though and I will
put it here with my letter.
His CompuServe ID, by the way, is 74740,3235. Write him. He said he
would appreciate any Amiga related news and stories. Basically, if we want
him to cover the Amiga, we need to supply him with something to cover.
