FYI the Mac Classic is dead. The lowest Mac is the Classic II/Performa
200. It has 4 megs, a 16 mhz 68030, a SCSI hard disk, a high density
floppy, and networking. It also has the crappy little 9 inch monochrome
screenand a $995 list price. However, rumors are that by the end of the
year, there will be a color Classic II and a whole crop of new Quadras.
I think the A600 would have been fine 2-3 years ago, but it is too late for
that level of hardware.
