My "multitasking problem" with DMCS wasn't so much with other programs, but within DMCS ITSELF. With the version that I had, you could NOT start the song playing and then choose any other menu function without causing the player to stop, or at least, be interrupted. Sonix and Dr. T's programs allow me to open up a score requestor and go searching for my next "piece" to play, while they are continuing to play what I had already loaded/started, WITHOUT ANY or much of any interruption at all, and CERTAINLY, without forcing the player to stop all together. I may have had a VERY early version of DMCS, but to me it was more of a joke than a useful tool. If I cannot open up ANY requestor within DMCS V2.x without interrupting or stopping the current play back, then I am not interested in whatever goodies they ladden it with. A true multitasking program must not only multitask with any other program, but must also multitask within itself, or it is not multitasking – only the OS is.
