John, you can not encrypt data sent over amateur radio bands. It is
illegal up here, and am pretty sure is down there, too. Business band –
once you get a frequency and radios, am pretty sure you could do anything
you want as long as you stay within the audio bandwidth of the equipment –
should be able to do 2400 bps using the mic inputs. 9600 bps may be
doable, but would require connections inside the radio – a sure way to
void type acceptance.
