No, the stethoscope was needed for a medical text book which has long since
gone to the printers! The client wanted every chapter number to be
`wrapped' in a stethoscope for which a bit of manipulable clip-art would
have done just fine … in the end, I persuaded the client that it was a
bit corny and not really suited to a book which was as serious as it was.
