Thanks for the response. I knew I'd seen something somewhere … now, to
find one of them. Do you have any thoughts on where Animator Pro fits, in
terms of overall capabilities, in the company of the Macromind
Action!/Directortypes of programs — i.e., how it is generally considered
in the competitive marketplace for the level of animation it produces?
I'm going to be getting 3D Studio, as well, I believe. But what I'm
ultimately after is something that will allow me/my company to produce
animations that can be played back on a wide variety of platforms (PCs,
Macs, UNIX workstations, etc.). So far, I've discovered a couple of quite
capable Xwindowsbased players for .FLI/.FLC and other formats that will
allow my stuff to run on any Xserver-equipped Mac or PC, as well as most
UNIX machines. But are there any "native" players for the Mac?
I haven't been able to find a whole lot of people who do a lot with
Animator Pro at the level I've been pushing it; most seem to move on to 3D
Studio or go to the Mac or some UNIX-based application. I may well head
that direction myself; but there's actually quite a bit one can do with
AAP once one deciphers the interface and the operations become a bit more
reflex.
Appreciate any feedback.
