jukeboxes
There are periodic questions about jukeboxes. I have just received a press
release from Microboards of America (612/448-9800) announcing a new product
called the "Libreeze 604X mini-changer" which has a capacity of 144 discs.
It is based on a stack of 6 pioneer DRM 604X drives (each with a 6-disc
magazine) with 18 magazines of 6-discs each availble for loading.
Compatible with DOS, Windows, Mac, OS/2, VMS, Sun and other Unix systems.
Costs $14,950. I called and the system is not modular, so you can't buy
less capacity in its current congifuration. It's all or nothing. But this
may be a good solution for a large nateworked facility.
