CD to WAV
Dave, the SBPro card does 8 bit samples, vice CD 16 Bit samples. If you work
that out you can see the resolution of the Pro is pretty bad. 2^8=256
discrete values vice 2^16=65536 values. Plus your sample rate can be lower
depending on what you chose as your options.
As far as the noise, you may have a noisy power supply. I would suggest you
move the card as far away as possible from the power supply in the computer.
It can make a considerable difference. I do not get any noise at all through
the speakers, but I have heard of the problem.
