I have today been on a demostration of the miroVIDEO DC1 tv and Adobe Premiere V1.1. When I went to the demo I were prepared to have a card with me back but I left the company without any card. The demo were not what I expect of a demo, their knowledge of video editing and Adobe Premiere were very limited. I wanted to check for me 2 important things. 1. Picture quality. What I was shown were low quality VHS but they had used a rental video as input and they usually are in a very bad quality from the beginning, they couldn't show me anything where they had used an input from a camara in any quality. I hoped they could show be something from Hi-8 or S-VHS. But I think this is what you can get for that price. I think this quality is a good start for learning the technic. 2. Sound editing and mixing. They could only show Premiere V1.1. They didn't know anything about V4 (not V1.1 either… my opinion). I want to work with several audio tracks with for example, atmosphere, speaker, music, sound effects etc. These needs then to be mixed together were I can set volume, fading and also equlization per track. These need to be changable and set in exact the right frame of video. According to the demostrator can I NOT do this with Adobe Premiere V1.1. Of this reason I didn't buy anything today. I have a couple of questions: 1. This Audio editing limitation is this also true in Adobe Premiere V4? In Adobe datasheet for Premiere V4 the say "Add up to 99 tracks each of video and CD-quality audio for complex compositing and sound mixing". What is this? Is this what I want? Is there any other possibility to take care of this? 2. They told me that MAKE VIDEO could take several hours depending of the editing. I wonder if I could MAKE VIDEO on a part of my film for preview but they said this is NOT possible. Again is this possible in Adobe Premiere V4? 3. Is there anybody who know when miro will bundle Premiere V4 together with miroVIDEO DC1 tv? 4. Is there any more detail information about Adobe Premiere V4 that goes deeper than the datasheet? Thanks in advance Roger Bille
