Mike thank you for your annswer ! I feel a little under-powered with my 486 DX2 8 MB RAM 540 MB VLB HD. but a least its calculations are correct 😉 Something other i learned yesterday : I watched carefully on a AVI-Movie. Everytime the bumpers occured the HD was running. I think at least at my system its the synchronisation of the datastream which caused the bumpers. The data was loaded (slow down), then played from RAM (speeded up) , then the next data was loaded (slowed down)… => Every load one bumper. I skipped the Sawp-file and so (with only about 4 MB Ram) the HD was constantly running and the movie was suddenly more constant. (but a little slower) Even full screen was smooth. Perhaps its better not to speed up the system but to slow it down ? Perhaps the programmers of AVI-Playback systems (like Premiere) can do something about this ? (To learn the software to adjust the speed when playing from RAM and playing from HD ?) I think a little less playback speed in exchange for smoother pictures is acceptable !? greetings Frank Mussler
