Animator Pro gives you 256 colors from the _VGA_ palette – which has only
64 levels of RGB – versus the 256 levels of (each) RGB you get with 24-bit
color. (32 bit color is 24 bit plus an "alpha" channel generally used to
indicate transparency when combining signals.)
So Animator Pro has a possible 256,000 colors versus 16.7 million. What
you are seeing seems to be the rounding effect. (Though 219 to 214 seems
to be larger than necessary – 220 might be a better choice.)
