Autodesk Animator is the initial release and is limited to 320×200 resolution. Animator Pro is resolution-independent, you can create flics as large as your display device can handle. However, it requires an 80386 processor, minimum. It's considered a professional product, so you won't see it in standard retail outlets, like Egghead. Like 3D Studio, Animator Pro is sold only through multimedia dealerships. Call 800-525-2763 for the number of a multimedia dealer nearest you. 3D Studio is a 3D modeling, rendering, and animation package. It's completely self-contained and can produce anything from flics to broadcast-quality animations or print-quality still images. You don't need either Animator or Animator Pro to use 3D Studio, but you can use either. You use the Animators to create texture maps or animated texture maps for your 3D objects in 3D Studio. The higher resolution of Animator Pro is, naturally, a better match for the quality of 3D Studio, though you can create effective maps with the original Animator.
