Patricia,
There is a whole host of telecom programs available in Library 5 of
this forum. If your Unix machine is running BSD4.x or a close derivative
(SunOS, e.g.), then look into DNet, by Matt Dillon. It will allow you to
have multiple shell windows and file transfers running simultaneously.
Unfortunately, DNet doesn't work with System V. For that you'll need a
regular terminal program, like VLT.
