I have about the same gear. AU/X will not do it. Truly irritating. MachTen
CAN do it, according to Tenon, but they were using an extra chunk of stuff
from Dantz's Retrospect to make it work, so they were'nt distributing it
when I asked. I was going to do some experiments, since I too have Dantz's
exabyte INIT, but the 8500 got swiped and strapped onto one of the SGIs at
work, so… (I lose more gear that way!)

What's "Dantz's Exabyte INIT"? And what is the Exa8500 wdoing on an SGI?
You don't happen to have an Abekas, do you? What'That's the reason I got
the Exabyte, to write software to write tapes for EAbekas.
