Hi Guy,
Thanks for the help. I ordered the book on Searles Lake minerals from Jon,
and with that order, I sent him a note about how this new order was an act of
faith. I got the new book from Jon the other day, with a note about how my
copy of Vol. III of Crystals and Minerals went out a month ago. He did give me
his 800 number, and I called and left him a message that I hadn't gotten Vol.
III, and that I sure would like one. So we'll see what happens.
If I now end up with a second copy, I'll be glad to pass it along to a
necessitous fellow collector.
I was almost back in Portland recently. I have some silicone exposure cases
(breast implants, mostly) in Portland, and one was called for trial, but got
continued at the last moment. If and when it comes up again, I may have a role
in defending, and so I will get to take you up on the offer. There's a big
whole in my zeolite collection–no erionite, cowlesite, tschernickite,
boggsite–that only Oregon is likely to remedy. My last trip up your way was
hugely productive. I spent maybe 3 hours on the roadcuts around Goble, and
came away with beautiful mesolite sprays, stilbites, native copper, natrolite,
etc., which are among the best I've collected. You won't have to twist my arm
to get back out there!
Thanks again.
Nathan
