Every load of data from the drive slows down the movie and after the load it speeds up. The result is a unsteady impression. The picture quality is not affected . (i only can talk about VHS). My CPU/RAM seems to be fast enough to play a movie but the HD looses time when it starts running. If its constantly running the movie is fluent, even in fast-moving scenes (like zooms or turns) Of course higher data through-put solves this problem anyway, but that means better equipement and higher costs.
