Kermit on Termite
I have a problem with Termite. It is not able to download binary files
from my office computer using kermit. I use termite to connect to the
office computer, start kermit at that end, set file type binary, send a
file, click on download, and proceed to get a series of errors until the
termite kicks out for too many retries. I can download text files with no
problem, using the same procedure. Any kermit users out there have a
suggestion.
Don't suggest using another protocol. We don't have one at the office.
And I use the office computer to download the big programs from Aminet, so
I can't bring stuff home on diskettes. Also, the phone lines are bad
enough that I can't uuencode the files and send them as text because the
max baud rate that works reliably is 2400 baud. It takes forever to
download as it is.
I am using Termite ver 0.99 (ver 1.0 can't even start kermit, but that is
a different story) on a 3000 running AmigaDos 2.05. I have 4 meg fast, 2
meg chip, and a ZOOM modem running at 2400 baud.
Thanks for any help.
