#NEC/ADAPTEC-HELP!!
Chris, run MFT (manifest) that comes with QEMM to find out where the ROM for
the SCSI controller is (exclude that). If you using stealth, XST (stealth
exclude that region). When you access the CD-ROM drive, does the light come
on? If so then at least the controller and drive are talking.
You know you need to load ASPI2DOS.SYS first before the CD-ROM driver right?
IF the two are not talking (or even if they are) then check the termination
of the SCSI bus. You will need a terminator on the SCSI controller (default)
and a terminator on the last unit on the cable (not default). If there is not
a terminator on the last unit on the physical cable, they you will need to
follow the directions for that device and place a terminator on the cable or
drive.
Also, you can use the switch /D with the ASPI2DOS driver (I think it's /D)
for more info. It will tell you if the driver sees the device. and what
number ID it's configured for.
Hope this helps.
