Rich (or anyone that can help): I was told that I migh be bale to get some help with MSCDEX.EXE problems here. I am having several problems with this program, and can't figure out where the best place to get help would be. On the off chance that it is here, I will list the problems below. If this isn't the forum, would you tell me which one would be a better bet? Problem 1: If I load the program in AUTOEXEC.BAT with the following commands, everything works perfectly: C: \CDROM\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD008 /M:8 However, if I do the following: C: C:\CDROM\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD008 /M:8 Then I get the message "Device driver not found: 'MSCD008 '" followed by the message: "No valid CDROM device drivers selected". The program exits, and the CDROM drive is not available. This one is no big deal as the first commands above will work. Problem 2: If I try to use the DOS 5.0 LOADHIGH command to load this program into upper memory, I get the message "Insufficient memory", even though the file size is only 25k, and the program is only 31k after initilization, and there is more than that available in upper memory in one piece. I get the same message even if I change the /M:8 to /M:2 to reduce memory requirements. [More]
