I know what you mean.. I have a strong aversion to tearing up a working machine to test a bad one. 🙂 There is a difference in the Denise chips- assuming your 1000 has it's original chips. They added extra half-bright to the later Denise chips. But you can use the latest & greatest version you can buy in a 1000, they're plug compatible. Unlike Agnus… As for scoping, start with 1v/div on the vertical scale, and maybe 10usec on the horizontal.
