hi troy, i agree, speed alone is not the issue- the other issues are ease of use, amount and variety of animation control, special effects abiltity, and plain rendering quality. I think you could probably create equal still images with the top line software on every platform- 3D studio on PC, LW (of course 🙂 on Amiga, Electric Image on Mac, SoftImage on workstation class, etc… Its a matter of how you get there 🙂 We also see the inevitable (and fun) leapfrogging of features, for example, 3D studio, Alias, and Electric Image all claim lens flares now etc… I am sure the next Lightwave will move beyond as well 🙂 take care, kevin
