Thanks for your reply. I will definetly contact Quantum (got any idea where their number might be?). I'm glad to hear it is a documented problem. It doesn't always happen, which is the irritating part. The drive lulls you into a state of security for a few days, then malfunctions at just the wrong time. But it's getting more fequent.
