You appear, in your ignorance of firearms, to be one of those that would irresponsibly have them lying around for kids to access. Proper fire arm training dictates that there is only one type of warning shot acceptable: If you have to draw your gun in any deadly force encounter then the warning shots are 2 to the center of the chest followed by 2 to the center of the head. This is what is being taught in the handgun safety / concealed weapons permit course sanctioned by the Florida Highway Patrol and taught by it's officers. I recently took the course to update my understanding of the law. Again, warning shots other than mentioned above are taught as very dangerous and irresponsible not to mention being illegal in this community.
