I feel kinda bad talking guns in here. Maybe we'll be stopped. But until then… It seems to me that one reason people don't fire warning shots is that they believe that unless they kill the person, they will find themselves in court and paying the assailant for the rest of their lives for having caused trauma and permanent disabling injury. That is … If they dead, they ain't sueing. I don't know how true it is, but this seems to be the perception. And people act on perception more than truth.
