Joan,
If you want to use ED to edit your User-Startup, first of all, make a backup
copy of the User-startup so that if anything goes wrong you will have a copy of
the one you are using right now. BE SURE to do this before making changes.
After that is done, type
RUN ED WB:USER-STARTUP
The file should load into ED. Go through the file, looking for the lines you
want to delete. (I'm sorry – I have forgotten exactly what you wanted to take
out.) When you come to a line you do not want, be sure the cursor is on the
line you want to remove and press the CTRL key and the letter B, and the line
will be erased. Don't hang onto those keys, for it will keep erasing!
When you have taken out all the lines you want to remove, press ESC and then
the letter x, and your edited file will be saved in place of your original.
Test it and see if that is what you want (reboot your Amiga so it will use this
new version.) If anything goes wrong, copy your old one back and try again.
