Target images are "deposited" in one single place and all "stations" read one specific directory for "orders". It can be anything. From a major 10,000 workstations mega fiber optic network to a couple of machines hooked up together through a serial port and a drive mapping program. The only difference here will be the network performance. The faster you can get an image "deposited" in the target drive, the sooner that station will be back to work rendering.
