Drive clicking? I have been using various versions of software declickers so long I couldn't tell you. BTW, I'm using Nick Wilson's NoClick program and it works fine under 2.1. Hard drive access time seems very quick to me, did you upgrade directly from 1.3? If so, you are probably running the hard drive under the old fast file system. Now, whether you can change this I'm not really sure, since your system needs to run under both 1.3 and 2.1. The best bet is to call whoever made your HD interface and ask them. As for the prefs, well, I'm not sure what is the best way to do what you want. The problem is that the path to ENVARC: is predefined, and that is where the pref programs write their settings. It is not, however, where your system is set up to keep them. O.K., try this: 1. Make the drawer dh0:prefs 2. Copy (all) the drawer dh0:WB21/prefs/env-archive to dh0:prefs 3. Change (again) the line Copy >NIL: dh0:WB21/prefs/env-archive: RAM:ENV ALL NOREQ *to* Copy >NIL: dh0:prefs/env-archive RAM:ENV ALL NOREQ I don't know if you made any typos when you wrote this in your message, but be sure there is no ":" after the "env-archive". Try changing the beep again and let me know how it goes, this one might really work. (crossing fingers) <G>
