I HATE CompuServe! On GEnie, messages don't evaporate into thin air after a few days — they stay put until either the person who posted them, or a Sysop, deletes them. This is just one example of how frustrating this can be. Due to pressing deadlines, I haven't been able to do a full pass here since September 1. So now I see this thread about an "Animator Pro Disaster." First message I see (from Yann) says that y'all have never seen it happen before, and that it might be due to a virus. Second message (from Nick) says to also try a clean bootup, and says "This sounds serious." Those are the only two messages in this Thread! The ORIGINAL message, presumably from Chris, which describes the process, isn't there anymore. It evaporated. So now I have no idea what this "sounds serious" "disaster" is, or if it is at all similar to the problems WE have been having. I know AutoDesk has an exclusive contract with CompuServe, which forbids you from having an official presence on any other online service. I also hate exclusivity clause contracts — they smack of anti-trust violations to me. May I suggest that when said contract expires and comes up for renewal that y'all get rid of that clause, and give those of us who so thoroughly despise CompuServe some freedom of choice? On GEnie, I wouldn't have had this problem. Better yet, try adding some technical support phone lines like most other software companies do. — Joel
