I use DMS quite often, too (I have a CD-ROM as well), and this happens quite
often (almost every time). This is because it is probably a Euro Demo of some
sort that does not have a standard boot code. When you use the disk, it should
be fine (It always works fine for me, anyways). Do you format the floppies
before DMS-ing to them?
