Well, this thread just doesn't want to die <g> (pun intended). 4 boys
aged 14/15 I know personally were attacked in a "drive-by" shooting a
week ago. Three are dead now. Only one survived and was unhit. This
was a fight between neighbourhood kids (I used to do this myself as a
teen) and without guns there might be broken noses, maybe some stab
wounds at worst. It's just too easy to kill with a gun, IMHO. There's
a tremendous psycholigical leap between killing somebody from a
distance with a gun and getting in their face and killing them
manually with a knife or club. Very few kids have the psyche for the
latter, thousands have it for the former.
BTW, in the October Compuserve magazine on page 19 it has a sidebar on
the "top 10 subjects guaranteed to start a heated online discussion".
One of them is gun control. How true.
Also, before you label me as a bleeding heart-liberal, since I know
you are a Rush Limbaugh fan, I want to say that I'm an English
Conservative party supporter (although temporarily living in SoCal).
The difference is _no_ major political party in England is in favour
of private handgun ownership. Just had to clarify that.
