I have a question that I hope someone here can answer: I recently picked up a SyQuest 5110C drive for my GVP-equipped A500. My reason for getting the dual-format unit is cost savings in using 44-meg cartridges… since some of the things I want stored off-line don't justify buying a $200+, 88-meg cart when a <$100, 44-meg cart will do. Imagine my surprise when I found that I couldn't use the 44-meg and 88-meg carts interchangeably! (^_^) If I put a 44-meg cart in after boot-up, I'd get a 'Not a DOS Disk' error if I replaced it with an 88-meg cart, and vice-versa. The way I have things set up, a 44-meg cart is formatted as DH3: and an 88-meg cart is DH2:. I tried using the same names for both, to no avail. Do I need a DiskChange-like program to allow the different sized cartridges to work interchangeably? Is there something in the GVP device drivers (the version I have is 4.13 of the gvpscsi.device)? Or am I just plain out of luck? Thanks in advance.
