Ben: It might be better to just sit back and wait to see what happens before you pull GIF support from ImageMaster and other products. I think it will end up like the Compton multimedia fiasco as you mentioned. And even if they did decide to take someone to court, they probably have little or no chance in winning. I do agree that GIF is not a very good format anymore. The only advantage it held was that in the time it was introduced, most everyone was using 286's with EGA or VGA cards so it offered relatively fast decompression with small file sizes, which was a necessity considering the horsepower of the PC's in those days. Now most PC owners are getting 486's or Pentiums that can decompress a JPEG image in a matter of seconds and displaying them on 24-bit cards. Amiga owners have always been lucky to have the IFF format that has many advantages over GIF.
