I was hot on the Sanyo for a while, and was planning on using it strictly for Exabyte preview purposes. I chose another deck due to several factors: 1) I needed a VTR before the Sanyo was shipped 2) I put a LOT of wear and tear on decks, and was concerned about reports of its less than industrial construction 3) Heard conflicting reports as to the decks output, and was not going to postpone an important deadline on a deck that _might_ be good. I have, since, heard both good and bad reports on the deck. People who bought this deck as their 1st machine are giving it great reports, and people from the video industry are giving it reviews ranging from good output/not going to last to poor output/not going to last. Regardless of what experts say, I'm glad there are people who find this deck suits their purposes, because I hate it when there isn't an important piece of equipment (like an animation recorder) available to people of limited funds.
