PGP program
A couple of days ago I uploaded a file called PGP21A.LHA. This is the
source & Amiga binary for a program called Pretty Good Privacy. This is a
public key encryption program that is freeware. The only problem with it
is that the whole concept of a public key encryption is patented by a
company in CA called Public Key Partners (PKP for short). Currently PKP is
not licensing PGP, so it's not quite clear what the legality of using PGP
is, however for personal use it should be OK. I've been using the program
for a few days transfering encrypted email with my brother at MIT, and
he's been using it for a while now for all his sensitive email. He also
has a working relationship with PKP (I'm not sure what it is tho), so he
doesn't really want to rub the fact that he's using PGP in their noses
(his words), so once again I'm not sure what that means. I uploaded it
here in 17 so that a few of you can look at it & determine if it would be
OK for upload in the general sections. Thanks.
