John,
This is an edited message I have sent to Greg by e-mail:
(Talking about John relation with Rachel)
"However I don't care about that. I don't have to see the people models of
anybody to come with my people. Of course I can think, "oh, I want to make some
business and there seems to be market for this". I suppose that the thought is
common in modern capitalism society. Ask the IBM clone makers! 🙂 Or look to a
near example: the IPAS routines. There are a competition there, you, Schreiber,
Yost and a lot more of other developers. I'm sure that someone will come with a
natural paint IPAS filters soon, the same way that it happens with Adobe
Photoshop, where lot of third companies are marketing same kind of filters.
That's because that are public ideas. You only can have copyrights about your
code and the distribution of your product. I don't think that it's unethical
that Jesus' brother develop a new IPAS pack that do most of the things that
yours or Yost packs do, but better (or worse 🙂 even when he have seen Gus'
routines and the Yost Group ones".
And if all of this apply to new programs and concepts, think about how basic
and how old is architectural rendering. And after make the building, 3d people
is the first thing an architect/modeler thinks when he start to give it its
dimension".
I see the thing this way. All people know that architectural oriented people
meshes have to be as little faces as possible (because the important thing is
the building) the same way as people know how a oil painting or an old film
looks.
I didn't see Rachel people neither John's, and can't compare them.
