Hi Anthony, my experience is that if you're doing acquisition (not
frame by frame) there is very little if any drop-out. Its the
grueling demands of frame by frame that produce the problem. I may be
pickier than some as I am accustom to results like 1" and Beta SP and
Laser Disk, but from a professional standpoint the level of drop-out
is unacceptable. I can't put one 10 second animation to tape without
a least one hit. And don't even think of re-recording over the same
spot. I can usually get away with dropping a frame in. I think it is
safe to say it is a great test medium and very attratively priced, or
was until the DPS system came out and the Sanyo for that matter. I
hoped for more but at $3500 it was a good bargain. And all the low
end recorders have some drawbacks, even the AG-7750. If you want
professional results ya gotta buy a professional deck. With one
caveat, and that is to get an Exabyte and the ASDG Abacus driver.
Then you can get professional results because your final output is
recorded to a professional deck. -JE P.S. If you know of someone who
