Just put my two cents in here. The advertised TBC in the 1970 is really just a skew corrector ala 3/4" Sony decks. The meaning of a TBC is that it correct's the lenght of the line of video not just the leading edge of video. A synchronizer does this but is generally used just for sat feeds or video camera's that are already time base correct. The WJMX-10 series mixes video this way. While you can do this one the result is never again RS-170 spec video. I can't believe that Panasonic has a TBC button on the front of the deck but at least they have quit adverstising it that way.
