modem Problems
Hi
have a serious problem with my modem. I got a TKR Highspeed Modem a few
month ago. The modem is supposed to work at 14400 Baud. It as a
send/receive Fax Option. The standard is Class 2. Anyway after I received
the modem i did experience problems with sending a fax. I got a
connection, but sending the pages did not work. I checked receiveing a fax
which worked fine. At that time i did sent the modem back for repair.
After one week I did receive it with the comment, that the modem was fine.
Some time later I did find out that connections at 14400 did work, but
sending data was less efficient than receiving data. I observed several
errors when sending data. This made me believe that something with the
amiga 2000 I own is wrong. I brought it in a shop. the technican checked
the amiga out and found that there was nothing wrong.
Well something is wrong, receiving data at highspeed works fine, with
highspeedconnection as well as receiving a fax from a faxmashine or
another computer, but sending data causes errors at highspeed, and does
not work for sending a fax.
I have been talking to technicans all over the country, I spoke to amiga
insiders as well as anyone I knew, nothing makes sence. I even checked out
the 8520 chips in the computer. I would assume, that if a chip was broken
sending or receiving should not work at all. But data fowls obviously to
and from the modem to the computer.
Anybody who has an idea, please respond to the letter. Any commend is
appreciated.
Thank you…..
