Hi there, I'm having the same problems, at the moment only one of mine works but its better than none… some hints: makesure the Xpr library which supports the protocol is actually in the libs: i.e. you can select X or Y modem but if the library which supports the protocol is missing it simply aborts the down/upload. you should be able to get hold of the libs quite easily, ask the sysop. Bye the way I use Ncomm for software, and the only protocol I have which works with Compuserve is Kermit which is ancient.
