woah! If C= designs their system to actually use the specification
and the drive manufacturers fail to meet the drive specification,
it's C='s fault when it doesn't work? Huh?!!! The comprable
situation is where a manufacturer of computers follows the RS-232
specification and you complain that your modem, which deviates from
the specification, does not.
Who is to blame here? The computer manufacturer or the modem
manufacturer? In my book, it's the modem manufacturer's fault for
not following the specification. Apparently this is not the case in
your book.
Whether or not real world testing occured, the plain fact of the
matter is that certain drive manufacturers did not follow the
specification. I've been bit by this as well, as my IDE is
completely incompatible with any board except the one I have
installed. I suggest you look at the real source of the problem, the
drive manufacturer, rather than C=.
