I agree with you on one thing. CBM should have released the 'tested and approved' list of IDE drives. I know of plenty of IDE drives that work great with the A4000. Some high capacity drives include the new high speed Toshiba drives, the IBM and HP small form factor IDE drives. Some of these are way in excess of 120MB. If you followed the usenet threads, the Maxtor drives may have problems because they are way out of spec for spinning up to speed. Anyway, the simple solution is to slow down your Amiga. Something I would not be willing to do, most IBMers don't care or don't know. I also use MAC and Windows software (I actually develop software for those platforms) but use the Amiga to do it. Much easier to monitor all of the pointers and globals of my MAC software by having it run as a task on my true multitasking Amiga.
