thanks alot for the info! i was experimenting with something like that a little bit already, except i wasnt using the flic as an opacity map too. wasnt quite getting the effect i was after… hey, do you know if the same technique will also work on a freehand path, drawn in the 2d shaper? like to simulate cursive writing? thats what i was trying the wht to blk flic on, it came out more like the flic was planar mapped across the front of the 3d object. well, thanks again for the info! justin.
