Doing something as simple as installing a hard drive should not turn
into a nightmare, complete with undistributed lists of "recommended"
hard drives and the like.
For your information, among the many other things I've done in my
life has been operating a large scale VAR which installed several
thousand systems in the Chicago area.
Never have I run into this problem on any machine other than the
Amiga.
