Mike, While I agree that some programs are over-hyped I also think it's a fine line between humility and obscurity. You're aiming Imagine sales at people who want the best and will buy it. Well, how are they going to know it's the best if there are no sample pictures? They look on TV and see LightWave animations and assume it's the best. They look at the cover of Amiga World and see Caligari renders and assume it's the best. Where do they get the impression that Imagine's the best? Most people who want to get into 3D animation don't spend months cruising BBS's looking for pictures done with every Amiga render. They go into a store and ask the salesman to show them what's available. If you're worried about people feeling like they got took because they can't get the same quality as the sample pics, include a scene file that they can render themselves. They can learn from the lighting and object placement and become better Imagine users themselves. You have to understand that the average person is not going to go to much bother to find out what's hype and what's actually the best product. If they were IBM clones would not be the most popular type of computer and the Amiga would not be a niche computer.
