I'm sure you could do this with aapro, one way or another. I'd think
the sep (seperate) and fill tools would be useful in this regard. Sep
in particular has some nice features for seperating out entire
colours or areas of colour (or shade of gray, in the case of black
and white photos) as a single colour, or near colour, or cluster. You
might want to look at the great tutorials to see this in use. The
only problem I could see would be the annoying 256 colour limitation.
You'd to set up an appropriate pallette with the existing grays, plus
the colours you want to use for tinting/colourizing.
Like I said, it can be done but a full-featured paint package might do
it better. Good luck.
